Prime Minister Mark Carney and the provincial and territorial premiers are set to meet in Saskatoon on June 2 for a first ministers’ meeting. This will be the first time Saskatoon hosts such a gathering. The meeting aims to address various national issues, including Western alienation and interprovincial trade barriers. Premier Scott Moe of Saskatchewan expressed hope that the meeting will help address concerns affecting Western provinces and build unity across Canada. Additionally, the meeting will discuss the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CUSMA) and prepare for Canada’s hosting of the G7 summit in Banff later in June.
