Mark Carney, born on March 16, 1965, in Fort Smith, Northwest Territories, Canada, is a Canadian politician and economist who became the 24th Prime Minister of Canada in 2025. Raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Carney pursued higher education at Harvard University, earning a bachelor’s degree in economics in 1987, and later obtained master’s and doctoral degrees in economics from the University of Oxford in 1993 and 1995, respectively.
